"I spy @idinamenzel at #Glee today!" tweeted "Glee" star and Spring Awakening actress Lea Michele, who plays Rachel Berry on the Fox series. "So excited to have my mama back!"

Shelby Corcoran, biological mother to Michele's character, Rachel Berry, was first seen on "Glee" in the show's premiere season for five episodes. In season three, Corcoran returned to join McKinley High School as a new teacher, complicating things for Rachel.

Menzel won the Tony Award in 2004 for her performance in Wicked. She has also been seen on Broadway in Aida and Rent. It was recently announced that Menzel will return to Broadway in If/Then, a new musical by the Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning Next to Normal writing team of Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey that will arrive in spring 2014.
