News Tony Award Winner John Logan and Patti Smith Will Collaborate on "Just Kids" Screenplay Tony Award winner John Logan will collaborate with punk rock singer Patti Smith to adapt "Just Kids," Smith's 2010 memoir that won the National Book Award, into a screenplay, according to Deadline.com.

Smith's "Just Kids" follows her close relationship with photographer Robert Mapplethorpe as both came of age in their respective art forms in New York City during the '60s and '70s.

Logan won the Tony Award in 2010 for his play Red, about painter Mark Rothko. He received Academy Award nominations for "The Aviator" and "Gladiator." Logan also penned the screenplays for "Sweeney Todd," the 2007 movie musical, and the upcoming films "Coriolanus" and "Hugo."
