News Tony Award Winner Laura Benanti Debuts New Show at 54 Below May 20 Tony Award-winning actress Laura Benanti begins a seven-show engagement at 54 Below May 20 with an all-new evening of song.

Benanti, most recently seen in the NBC series "Go On" with Matthew Perry, plays 54 Below through May 25. The evening has musical direction and arrangements by Todd Almond. 

According to 54 Below, "Fusing theatre standards with pop music and original songs, Ms. Benanti’s unique blend of humor and vocal nuance promises to deliver an unforgettable evening."

Benanti earned a Tony Award for the 2008 revival of Gypsy, in which she co-starred with Patti LuPone. She earned a 2011 Tony Award nomination for Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown… and was also seen in the role of Carole-Ann on the short-lived NBC series "Playboy Club."

Her numerous stage appearances also include In the Next Room..., Nine, Into the Woods, The Sound of Music, Why Torture Is Wrong and the People Who Love Them, and a Tony-nominated performance in Swing!
