The play by Conor McPherson will find a home at MTC's Biltmore Theatre beginning April 13, 2006, toward a May 3 opening. The production replaces Patrick Marber's After Miss Julie, which has been postponed; MTC "looks forward to producing it next season."
Originally produced at London's Royal Court Theater to critical acclaim, Shining City "focuses on a guilt-ridden man who visits a therapist after seeing the ghost of his recently deceased wife. What starts out as an everyday exchange becomes a gripping struggle to survive — a struggle that will change both men for the rest of their lives."
Further details regarding casting and creative team for The Shining City will be announced at a later date.
