The 60th Annual Tony Awards picked up a nomination in the Comedy/Variety-Music, Awards, Tributes-Special category. Last season's awards were written by Dave Boone and aired on CBS-TV. Others nominated in that category include "The National Memorial Day Concert" (Joan Meyerson for PBS) and "Assume the Position with Mr. Wuhl" (Robert Wuhl, Allan Stephen and Rebecca Reynolds for HBO). The PBS documentary "Eugene O'Neill" also received a nomination in the Documentary-Other Than Current Events field. The American Experience production, which was written by Arthur Gelb, Barbara Gelb and Ric Burns, will vie for the Writers Guild award in a field that also includes "The Alaska Pipeline," "The Boy in the Bubble," "John and Abigail Adams" and "Marie Antoinette."
The 2007 Writers Guild Awards will be presented Feb. 11, 2007, at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles and simultaneously in New York at the Millennium Broadway Hotel's Hudson Theatre.
