Domingo, a Tony nominee for The Scottsboro Boys, will reprise his performance in his self-pened play, which runs Feb. 12-16 as part of Brisbane Powerhouse Arts.

The production earned acclaim during its extended Off-Broadway premiere at the Vineyard Theatre in 2009. It won the Lucille Lortel Award for Best Solo Show, the GLAAD Media Award for Best Play On or Off Broadway, and the IBTA Award for Best Solo Show.

Domingo's coming-of-age piece, according to BPA, "charts his family's love of soul music and features chart-topping hits from soul greats including Aretha Franklin, James Brown and Earth, Wind and Fire."

Domingo recently appeared in the feature film "The Butler." He is also the playwright of Wild With Happy. This past fall he reprised his performance as Mr. Bones in the London premiere of Kander and Ebb's The Scottsboro Boys. He is an Obie Award winner for Passing Strange and has also appeared in The Blood Knot, Chicago, Henry V and Bright Ideas.
