The production runs May 8-23 in the Kennedy Center Family Theater. D'Abruzzo, who will star as Trixie, is best know for her Tony-nominated performance as Kate Monster and Lucy the Slut in Avenue Q. She has been seen in the New York productions of Don’t Say Another Word, Plaisir D’Amour, Kiss and Makeup, I Love You Because, Carnival! and If You Give a Mouse a Cookie and Other Story Books. She has spent 17 seasons as a Muppet Performer on "Sesame Street." The singing actress recently made her regional debut in a production [title of show].

The cast will also include Michael John Casey as Dad, Matthew McGloin and Gia Mora as Puppeteers, and Erika Rose as Mom.

According to press materials, Knuffle Bunny: A Cautionary Musical "tells the story of toddler Trixie who has a beloved stuffed bunny, which she misplaces while on a trip to the laundromat with her slightly disheveled dad.  Luckily, she finds the stuffed animal and speaks her first words: 'Knuffle Bunny!'  The production is a story about family, best friends, baby steps, and memories that last a lifetime."

Author Mo Willems adapted the family musical from his Caldecott Honor-winning children’s book. The production features music by Grammy Award winner Michael Silversher, set and puppet design by Kat Conley, costume design by Kate Turner-Walker, lighting design by Jeff Bruckerhoff, sound design by Ryan Gastelum and choreography by Paige Hernandez. Rosemary Newcott directs.

The production is recommended for audiences ages four and up.
