News Tony Nominee Orfeh Will Be Part of June 18 B.R.A.T.S. Reading Orfeh, nominated for a 2007 Tony Award for her performance as Paulette in Legally Blonde The Musical, will be part of the by-invitation-only reading of B.R.A.T.S. The Musical June 18 at 3 PM at the Manhattan Theatre Club.

Presented by the New York Theatre Barn, the reading will feature direction by Christopher Gattelli (Altar Boyz, High Fidelity). The cast will also include Don Richard (Jane Eyre, Urinetown), Brad Bass (Wicked), Jenny Dinoia (Mamma Mia!), Adam Fleming (Hairspray, Wicked), Ryan Weiss (Wicked) and Kate Loprest (The Drowsy Chaperone).

B.R.A.T.S. was written by Bobby Cronin, the artistic director of Ergo Theatre Company. His other works include That's Andy and From This Day Forward.

Cronin's musical, according to press notes, is an "hilarious and moving contemporary musical [that] follows six troubled teens sent to a wilderness boot camp. Will they remain the burdened, reckless, adolescent troubled souls that they are or will they conquer their demons in time to go home for Christmas?"

A previous reading of B.R.A.T.S. was presented in December 2006 in Chicago by the Porchlight Music Theatre.

Orfeh is a 2007 Tony Award nominee for her performance as Paulette in Legally Blonde. She has also appeared on Broadway in Saturday Night Fever, Fascinating Rhythm and Footloose and Off-Broadway in Love, Janis. Her television credits include "Law & Order: Criminal Intent," "Sex & the City" and "Chappelle's Show." Orfeh was also founder and lead singer of the group Or-N-More on EMI Records. On June 11 four songs from B.R.A.T.S. will be heard at the D-Lounge as part of the New York Theatre Barn's Songwriters' Concert. The 7 PM performance will also feature the work of composers Joe Iconis, Brian Feinstein and Adam Gwon

Performing the selections from B.R.A.T.S. will be Brad Bass, Ryan Weiss and Jenn Furman.

The D-Lounge is located at 101 East 15th Street, between Union Square East and Irving Place. There is a $10 cover charge and a one-drink minimum; cash only at the door.
