News Tony Performer Bret Michaels Fractured Nose at Tonys Bret Michaels, who performed with the cast of the Tony-nominated Best Musical Rock of Ages at the 2009 Tony Awards, fractured his nose following the performance.

Those watching the opening number of the 2009 Tony Awards may have noticed a backdrop descend on the rock singer as he finished his song.

A spokesperson for Michaels told Playbill.com that in addition to a fracture, the famed singer also required three stitches to his lips. Michaels is "bruised up, but in good spirits," according to the spokesperson.

Neil Patrick Harris hosted the 2009 Tony Awards June 7 at Radio City Music Hall. Following the opening number, Harris joked that Michaels' run-in with the scenery gave "a whole new meaning to headbanging."
