New Yorkers have a little something extra to celebrate this holiday season -- actor Tony Roberts will play Scrooge in Madison Square Garden's annual musical production of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol. The holiday classic opens at The Theater at Madison Square Garden Nov. 26 and runs through Dec. 30. The Theater at Madison Square Garden is a 5,600- eat house in the greater MSG complex. MSG reports that there are plenty of seats available for all performances, with tickets prices running $92, $69, $44, and $29.
Known for his extensive film work in many of Woody Allen's films, Roberts has starred on Broadway as Toddy in Victor/Victoria and in the Broadway musicals Promises, Promises and Sugar. More recently, Roberts starred in the much-praised Paper Mill Playhouse revival of Follies.
