The productions discussed were Ann; Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike; Breakfast at Tiffany’s; Hands on a Hardbody; Lucky Guy; Kinky Boots; Matilda The Musical; Motown The Musical; The Nance; The Big Knife; The Assembled Parties; Jekyll & Hyde; Orphans; Macbeth; The Testament of Mary; The Trip to Bountiful; I’ll Eat You Last: A Chat with Sue Mengers; and Pippin

The committee announced that Sophia Gennusa, Oona Laurence, Bailey Ryon and Milly Shapiro, who share the title role in Matilda The Musical, will receive Tony Honors for Excellence in the Theatre. They will not be eligible in the Best Performance by an Actress in a Musical category; however, the Tony Awards Administration Committee "wishes to recognize their outstanding performances this season." The committee also decided that Orphans, which premiered in 1983 but is only now making its Broadway debut, will be eligible in the category of Best Revival of a Play.

Playbill.com also learned that the limited engagements of Barry Manilow and The Rascals: Once Upon a Dream are not eligible for nomination. Although the score for Motown: The Musical contains a few new tunes, it is not eligible for nomination. The choreography of Pippin, which is credited to Chet Walker (in the style of Bob Fosse), is eligible for nomination, and the short-lived new musical Hands on a Hardbody did run long enough for eligibility for Tony nominations.

Other rulings follow:

Kristine Nielsen will be considered eligible in the Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Play category for her performance in Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike. Emilia Clarke and Cory Michael Smith will be considered eligible in the Best Performance by a Actress/Actor in a Leading Role in a Play categories for their respective performances in Breakfast at Tiffany’s.

Stark Sands and Billy Porter will be considered eligible in the Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical category for their respective performances in Kinky Boots.

Bertie Carvel will be considered eligible in the Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical category for his performance in Matilda The Musical.

Valisia LeKae and Brandon Victor Dixon will be considered eligible in the Best Performance by a Actress/Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical categories for their respective performances in Motown The Musical.

Nathan Lane will be considered eligible in the Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Play category for his performance in The Nance.

Bobby Cannavale will be considered eligible in the Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Play category for his performance in The Big Knife.

Jessica Hecht will be considered eligible in the Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Play category for her performance in The Assembled Parties.

Vanessa Williams and Cuba Gooding Jr. will be considered eligible in the Best Performance by an Actress/Actor in a Featured Role in a Play categories for their respective performances in The Trip to the Bountiful.

Patina Miller and Matthew James Thomas will be considered eligible in the Best Performance by an Actress/Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical categories for their respective performances in Pippin.

All other eligibility determinations were consistent with the opening-night credits. That is, only actors whose names appear above the title are eligible for nomination in the Leading Actor/Actress categories. Producers must petition the Administration Committee in order to change actors' eligibility status.

The Tony Awards Administration Committee features 24 members, ten designated by the American Theatre Wing, ten by the League, and one each by the Dramatists Guild, Actors' Equity Association, United Scenic Artists and the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society. This committee, according to the Tony Awards, "determines eligibility for nominations in all awards categories, reviews the rules governing the awards, and appoints the Nominating Committee. It may, at its discretion, bestow non-competitive Tony Awards including Special Tony Awards, the Regional Theatre Tony Award, and the Isabelle Stevenson Award; as well as Tony Honors for Excellence in the Theatre."

The 2013 Tony Awards will be broadcast live from Radio City Music Hall June 9 beginning at 8 PM on CBS.

Nominations will be announced April 30 at 8:30 AM at The New York Public Library for Performing Arts, Dorothy and Lewis B. Cullman Center.
