News Tony Winner Adriane Lenox to Sing Music of Ethel Waters at the Allen Room Tony Award winner Adriane Lenox will lead Ethel Waters: Blues, Broadway, and Jazz May 1 and 2 at the Allen Room.

A Tony Award winner for Doubt, Lenox is currently appearing in the Off-Broadway premiere of Regrets at Manhattan Theatre Club. For an in-depth look at Lenox's theatrical history, click here. Michael Feinstein will host the 7:30 PM concert that will feature Lenox singing some of Waters' signature songs. Tedd Firth is the musical director. Scott Siegel produces the evening that is presented as part of the Jazz & Popular Song series.

According to Jazz at Lincoln Center, "This concert celebrates the decades-spanning career of entertainer Ethel Waters. Waters was a singular performer who conquered Broadway, nightclubs, movies, television and radio. At one time, she was the highest-paid entertainer on Broadway. She was a major player in the introduction of jazz to a broader American market, but her influence on the very nature of jazz itself cannot be overstated."
