"Browsers," a single-camera project that will feature Neuwirth alongside a cast of five 21-year-olds, is set in current-day Manhattan and follows the young adults as they start their first jobs at a new website. Neuwirth will play their boss.
The pilot, which will be directed by Don Scardino ("30 Rock," Lennon), was written by Emmy-winning comedy writer David Javerbaum ("The Daily Show," Cry-Baby). Amazon Studios and 3 Arts will produce with Javerbaum and David Miner as executive producers.
Neuwirth won the Tony Award in 1986 for her performance in Sweet Charity and again in 1997 for her performance in Chicago. She has also been seen on Broadway in A Chorus Line, Dancin', Little Me, Damn Yankees, Fosse and The Addams Family.
