Tony Award winner Betty Buckley, seen on screen earlier this year in M. Night Shyamalan’s Split, has been cast in a recurring role in the upcoming season of the critically acclaimed CW series Supergirl.

The Sunset Boulevard and Cats star confirmed she will play Patricia Arias, the adoptive mother of Samantha Arias (Odette Annable). The new season begins October 9 at 8 PM ET; Buckley said her first appearance will be on the November 20 episode.

Broadway favorite Buckley will also debut Story Songs #2 October 12-15 at Joe’s Pub at the Public Theater in New York (tickets are available here).

“It's a new collection of music by lyricist-composers like Jason Robert Brown, Steely Dan, T Bone Burnett, Lisa Loeb, Joni Mitchell, JD Souther, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Paul Simon, and Stephen Sondheim. I'm also doing a couple of standards from the American Songbook,” Buckley told Playbill.
