News Tony Winner Chuck Cooper, Anthony Chisholm, James A. Williams, Roslyn Ruff Among Cast of Two River's Jitney Two River Theater Company, under the leadership of artistic director John Dias and managing director Michael Hurst, will present August Wilson's Jitney, beginning Jan. 31, 2012, prior to an official opening Feb. 4.

Directed by Tony Award winner Ruben Santiago-Hudson, who is currently starring in Broadway's Stick Fly, the limited engagement will continue through Feb. 19.

Jitney will feature Tony Award winner Chuck Cooper (The Life) as Becker, Tony Award nominee Anthony Chisholm (Radio Golf) as Fielding, James A. Williams (Radio Golf) as Doub, J. Bernard Calloway (Memphis) as Booster, Roslyn Ruff (Fences) as Rena, Brandon J. Dirden as Youngblood, Harvey Blanks as Shealy, Ray Anthony Thomas (Race) as Philmore and Allie Woods as Turnbo.

Jitney is the eighth play in Wilson’s ten-play cycle, which depicts the African-American experience in each decade of the 20th century.

Other members of the creative team include scenic designer Neil Patel, costume designer Karen Perry, lighting designer Rui Rita and sound designer Leon Rothenberg. The production will feature original music by Bill Sims Jr.

Two River Theater will officially open its next production, Honk! A Musical Tale of ‘The Ugly Duckling', Dec. 10. The season will also include In This House (March 3–April 1); Maureen McGovern in Carry It On (April 3–April 22); and Alan Ayckbourn’s My Wonderful Day (May 15–June 3, 2012).
