News Tony Winner Ebersole Joins Rockers on Broadway Concert Christine Ebersole — the singing actress who won a slew of awards, including the Tony, for her performance in Grey Gardens — is the latest addition to the upcoming Rockers on Broadway Salutes Motown concert.

The Oct. 22 concert at BB Kings Blues Club and Grill on West 42nd Street will benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and Wingspan Arts. Caroline Rhea will host the 8 PM performance, which will be directed by Donnie Kehr and choreographed by Wayne Cilento and Kelly Devine. The evening will pay homage to the Motown era. Ebersole joins a roster of performers that includes Darlene Love, La La Brooks, Micky Dolenz, Deborah Gibson, Kate Taylor, Daniel Reichard, J. Robert Spencer, Christian Hoff, Tevin Campbell, Bruce Morrow, Daphne Rubin-Vega, Krisha Marcano, Renee Elise Goldsberry, Will Chase, Michael Lanning, Kris Coleman, John Eric Parker and Anika Ellis.

Rockers on Broadway was founded by Donnie Kehr in 1993. This version will also include a special appearance by the Motown songwriting team Holland-Dozier-Holland ("Heat Wave," "How Sweet It Is," "Where Did Our Love Go?"), who will be joined by Curtains writer Rupert Holmes; they are currently collaborating on the new musical The First Wives Club.
