The former Spelling Bee star will join Seth Green, Mindy Sterling and Joan Cusack in Walt Disney Pictures' "Mars Needs Moms," according to The Hollywood Reporter. Simon Wells will direct the feature, an adaptation of the children's novel penned by Berkeley Breathed. Simon and Wendy Wells wrote the screenplay.
The performance-capture movie, according to the trade paper, "follows a boy named Milo who stows away aboard a spaceship to rescue his mom after she was kidnapped by aliens."
Green will play Milo with Fogler as Milo's friend Gribble.
About the filming process, Green told the Hollywood Reporter, "[It's like] performing in a black box theatre with no costumes, no sets, just actors looking into each other's eyes trying to make it real."
A 2005 Best Featured Actor in a Musical Tony Award winner, Dan Fogler's film credits include "Balls of Fury," "The Marconi Brothers," "Good Luck Chuck," "Horton Hears a Who," "Kung Fu Panda," "Taking Woodstock," "Traveling" and "Number 13."
