Liz Diamond directs the production slated to open March 23 at the New Theater for a limited engagement through April 8. In dance of the holy ghosts: a play on memory, an older man (Cooper) basks in the glow of his memories until his estranged grandson visits after 18 years and he becomes faced with a different version of his past.

Cooper stars opposite Pascale Armand (Breath, Boom), La Tonya Borsay (The Exonerated), Harriet D. Foy (Mamma Mia!, Lone Star Love), Brian Henry (Balm in Gilead) and Paul J. Medford (Caligula, Swango).

The dance of the holy ghosts design team includes Aleksandra Maslik (scenic), Jennifer Moeller (costume), Jennifer Tipton (lighting) and Arielle Edwards (sound). The production features original music composed by Scott Davenport Richards with musical direction by XY Eli. Peter Pucci handles choreography, Gordon Carver is the dramaturg and Adam Ganderson serves as stage manager.

Cooper earned his Tony for his featured turn in The Life. Other Broadway credits include Lennon, Chicago, Passion, Rumors, Someone to Watch Over Me, Amen Corner and Caroline, or Change.
