The interview with the Tony-winning Wicked star will begin at 8 PM. Ballard, who produced Menzel's new CD, "I Stand," will chat with the singing actress about her work as an actress/singer/songwriter. Menzel will also perform a few songs to "demonstrate her artistic process," according to press notes. Following the discussion, Menzel will autograph copies of her new solo recording, which will be on sale at the 92nd Street Y.

Idina Menzel won a Tony Award for Leading Actress in a Musical for her work as Elphaba in Wicked; she also opened the London production of that hit musical. Menzel created the role of Maureen in the original Broadway company of Rent, and her other theatrical credits include the City Center Encores! production of Hair, the Manhattan Theatre Club The Wild Party, the Public Theater's See What I Wanna See and the benefit Funny Girl concert. Menzel's film credits include "Ask the Dust," "Rent" and "Enchanted."

Menzel will join Josh Groban, Adam Pascal and Kerry Ellis for concert performances of Chess May 12 and 13 at London's Royal Albert Hall.
