The April 2 concert on the theatre’s mainstage will begin at 7:30 PM.

Olivo's most recent appearance on the New York stage was last June in a five-show run of Jonathan Larson’s tick, tick…BOOM! as part of New York Center’s Encores! Off-Center series.

“I first met Karen when I was Associate Director for the most recent West Side Story revival, directed by my good friend Arthur Laurents,” said artistic director David Saint in a statement. “Her talent, both as an actor and singer, just knocked me out. I am so grateful that she will be making one of her few stage appearances here in New Brunswick for the benefit of George Street Playhouse.”

Olivo created the role of Vanessa in the Tony Award-winning musical In the Heights. She also appeared on Broadway in Rent and Brooklyn.

All seats are $35 and tickets are available through the GSP box office at (732) 246-7717 or gsponline.org. George Street Playhouse is located at 9 Livingston Avenue.
