TVGuide.com reports that Kurtz will play a potential love interest for one of the Wisteria Lane residents on the hit series "Desperate Housewives." Kurtz is expected to make her bow on "Housewives" in March. The acclaimed actress will also guest on an April episode of "Heroes."

Swoosie Kurtz — last seen in the Broadway revival of Heartbreak House — has provided Emmy-nominated turns on Showtime's "Huff" and "Sisters." The actress won Tony Awards for The House of Blue Leaves and Fifth of July and a nomination for her work in Frozen. Kurtz's other stage credits include Imaginary Friends, Love Letters, A History of the American Film, Tartuffe, The Mineola Twins, and Ah, Wilderness! She was most recently seen as Aunt Lily on ABC's "Pushing Daisies."

"Desperate Housewives" airs Sundays on ABC-TV Channel 7, from 9-10 PM ET; check local listings.
