Lavin, the Tony-winning star of Broadway Bound, will offer "Songs and Confessions of a Former Waitress" both nights at 7 PM. Lavin, perhaps best known for her award-winning stint on TV's "Alice," will be backed by Billy Stritch on piano, Steve Doyle on bass and John Brown on drums. The singing actress, according to press notes, will recall "her roots in the theatre (originating Sondheim's 'The Boy From...' in The Mad Show) and her early cabaret trials and tribulations in some less-than-glamorous boites."

Cabaretgoers can expect to hear tunes by the Gershwins, Maltby & Shire, Dave Frishberg and Trisha Yearwood. There is a $35 cover charge.

Birdland is located in Manhattan at 315 West 44th Street, between Eighth and Ninth Avenues. For reservations call (212) 581-3080 or visit www.birdlandjazz.com.
