News Tony Winner Lea Salonga Set for Philippines Benefit Concert for Typhoon Maring Tony Award winner Lea Salonga is among the performers who will take part in Jammin' for HELP, a benefit concert for the Philippine National Red Cross' relief efforts for Typhoon Maring, Aug. 28.

Salonga will be joined by Sarah Geronimo, Pelita Corrales, Cris Villonco, Zia Quizon, Gerard Salonga, Sitti, Ryan Gallagher, Vicki Nievera, Jeff Pangan and many others.

"As one that was here watching the rains come, I felt fortunate to be in a safe home, but also needing to do something for those that weren't as lucky," Salonga told Playbill.com via email. "There have been many relief efforts (quite a few in association with the Philippine Red Cross) so many of my countrymen are answering the call to help." 

The 7 PM concert will be held at Whitespace at 2314 Chino Roces Avenue Extension in Makati City, Metro Manila, Philippines.

Salonga won the Tony Award in 1991 for her performance in Miss Saigon. She has also appeared on Broadway in Flower Drum Song and Les Miserables.
