News Tony Winner Michael Mayer Will Direct the 2012 Trevor Live Benefit Tony Award winner Michael Mayer will be the special guest director of Trevor Live, the Trevor Project's annual benefit. The 2012 event will be held June 25 at New York City's Chelsea Piers (Pier 60).

The evening, which will feature a two-hour performance beginning at 8 PM, will honor Renae Cartwright and Jeremiah Beaverly with the Colin Higgins Youth Courage Award and MTV with the Trevor 2020 Award. Performers and a recipient of the annual Trevor Hero Award will be announced at a later date. The Trevor Project is the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) youth. Mayer won the Tony Award in 2007 for his direction of Spring Awakening and was nominated for his work on Thoroughly Modern Millie; You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown; and A View From the Bridge.
