Directed by Frank Dunlop, Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt's poignant one-woman play will officially open at the Old Globe's Cassius Carter Centre Stage Sept. 27. Oscar and the Pink Lady, press notes state, "tells the story of a young hospital patient and his uplifting relationship with a kindly volunteer 'Pink Lady,' whose daily visits provide him with inspiration and hope." Angela Lansbury starred in a previous reading of the play.
The design team will comprise Michael Vaughn Sims (scenic), Jane Greenwood (costume), Trevor Norton (lighting) and Lindsay Jones (sound).
Rosemary Harris' Broadway credits include A Delicate Balance, Waiting in the Wings, An Inspector Calls, Hay Fever, Pack of Lies, Heartbreak House, The Royal Family, A Streetcar Named Desire, Old Times and The Lion in the Winter (Tony Award). She was nominated for an Academy Award for her performance in "Tom & Viv" and won the Emmy for her work in "Notorious Woman."
