Paul Lucas directs the production that runs through Jan. 16 at the DBS Arts Centre, followed by a Jan. 18-31 transfer to the Alliance Française Theatre. Take Me Out is produced in Singapore by Tim Garner Productions Pte. Ltd, which produces contemporary LGBT plays.

"With Take Me Out, we'll be taking our Singapore audiences on a journey straight to New York City, and with five cast members being Americans, taking our audiences authentically into our characters' very American lives and into the very American tradition of baseball," Garner said in a statement. "We hope that like one character in the play, our audiences will make their own discoveries in the world of baseball - and of course, with perhaps a new view on LGBT inclusion and equality. It feels like there might be good conversations to be had from this production."

The cast includes Juan Jackson (Darren Lemming), Hayden Tee (Mason Marzac), Tim Garner (Kippy Sunderstrom), Chris Bucko (Shane Mungitt), Kynan Francis (Jason Chenier), Johnny James (Davey Battle), Paul Lucas (The Skipper), Jejie Esguerra (Martinez), Ren Robles (Rodriguez), Seth Adams (Toddy Koovitz) and Hiro Mizuhara (Takeshi Kawabata).

Take Me Out follows the story of a superstar baseball player who comes out of the closet as a gay man and the aftermath of his announcement. The play, which made its world premiere at London's Donmar Warehouse then transferred to Off Broadway's Public Theater before its Broadway berth at the Walter Kerr Theatre — where it won the 2003 Tony Awards for Best Play, Best Featured Actor for Denis O'Hare and Best Director for Joe Mantello.
