The show, which was scheduled to close on June 11, will perform on June 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17, at 7 PM. All five evenings will benefit The Actors' Fund of America, The New Orleans Habitat Musicians' Village and Roundabout Theatre Company's Education Programs & Musical Theatre Fund.
Connick is a New Orleans native and has been active in aiding the city since it was decimated by Hurricane Katrina last September. Tickets to the shows are still available at (212) 719-1300.
In a statement, Connick said: "The Broadway community has been so supportive and welcoming to me in my debut that I simply had to find a way to show my appreciation. The producers, cast and crew have generously agreed to join me in extending the run of The Pajama Game for a series of benefit performances. All proceeds from these five shows will benefit the Broadway Community as well as the displaced musicians of my hometown of New Orleans. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and as we say in New Orleans, 'EH LA BAS.'"
The Pajama Game won Tony Awards for Best Musical Revival and Best Choreography (Kathleen Marshall).
Producers are exploring the possibility of a return Broadway engagement in the fall, and a national tour.
