Joey Parnes, the Tony-winning producer of The Humans, A View From the Bridge, Skylight, A Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder, and more, hopes to revive the 1992 Tony-winning Crazy for You, according to the New York Post.
Parnes intends to feature the cast of the February 19 staging of the musical, which was presented by Manhattan Concert Productions at David Geffen Hall, starring Tony Award nominee Tony Yazbeck (Gypsy, On the Town) as Bobby Child opposite two-time Tony nominee Laura Osnes (Bandstand, Cinderella) as Polly Baker.
Five-time Tony Award winner Susan Stroman, whose work on the original production earned her a Tony for Best Choreography, returned to direct and choreograph the staged concert. The cast also included Harry Groener (who was Tony-nominated for creating the role of Bobby Child in the original Broadway production) as showbiz impresario Bela Zangler, Golden Globe Award-winning Crazy Ex-Girlfriend star and creator Rachel Bloom as Irene Roth, television star Jerry O’Connell (Veronica Mars, Scream Queens) as Lank Hawkins, and SNL alum Rachel Dratch and 30 Rock’s Jack McBrayer as Patricia and Eugene Fodor, respectively.

With music and lyrics by George and Ira Gershwin and a book by Ken Ludwig, Crazy for You is based on the Gershwins’ 1930 musical Girl Crazy. The late Mike Ockrent directed the original production, which played 1,622 performances at the Shubert Theatre.
Both Yazbeck and Osnes have graced Playbill Travel's star-studded destination cruises. Click here for more information about upcoming cruises and the Broadway talent currently set to entertain.
