Manhattan Concert Productions’ one-night-only presentation of the Tony Award-winning musical Crazy for You takes place February 19 at 8 PM at David Geffen Hall.
Five-time Tony Award winner Susan Stroman, whose work on the original production earned her the 1992 Tony Award for Best Choreography, returns to direct and choreograph the staged concert. Stroman is recreating her show-stopping choreography for the evening that features an impressive lineup of stars from Broadway and television.
The cast of Crazy for You is led by Tony Award nominee Tony Yazbeck (Gypsy, On the Town) as Bobby Child, who co-stars opposite two-time Tony nominee Laura Osnes (Bandstand, Cinderella) as Polly Baker.
Stage and screen vet Harry Groener, who was Tony-nominated for creating the role of Bobby Child in the original Broadway production, returns to play showbiz impresario Bela Zangler.
Also part of the one-night-only event is Golden Globe Award-winning Crazy Ex-Girlfriend star and creator Rachel Bloom, who plays Irene Roth opposite television star Jerry O’Connell (Veronica Mars, Scream Queens) as Lank Hawkins. The cast also boasts SNL alum Rachel Dratch and 30 Rock’s Jack McBrayer as Patricia and Eugene Fodor, respectively.
Music director and conductor Kevin Stites leads a chorus of 240 singers from across the United States and the enlarged forces of the New York City Chamber Orchestra for the concert.
