News Tony Yazbeck and Scott Parkinson Complete Cast of Hartford Stage's Antony and Cleopatra Tony Yazbeck, Scott Parkinson and Keith Randolph Smith have joined the cast of Antony and Cleopatra, starring John Douglas Thompson and Kate Mulgrew, at Hartford Stage.

As previously reported, Thompson (The Emperor Jones) and Mulgrew (Tea at Five) will star as the legendary couple in the production that will run Oct. 7-Nov. 7. Tina Landau will direct Shakespeare's classic, which will open Oct. 15.

Yazbeck, who recently appeared on Broadway in Gypsy and White Christmas, will portray Alexas, with Parkinson as Caesar and Smith as Enobarus. The cast will also feature Kimberly Hebert Gregory as Charmian, Kendra Underwood was Octavia, Chivonne Michelle Floyd as Iras, Julio Monge as Soothsayer, Alex Cendese as Pompey, Christopher McHale as Ledipus, Sean Allan Krill as Agrippa, LeRoy McClain as Menas, Jake Green as Messenger, JP Qualters as Mardian, Freddie Lee Bennett as Eros and Michael Gregory.

Antony and Cleopatra will have costume design by Anita Yavich, set design by Blythe Quinlan, lighting design by Scott Zielinski and sound design by Lindsay Jones.

According to Hartford Stage, the play "follows the relationship between Cleopatra and Mark Antony from the time of the Parthian War to Cleopatra’s suicide." Hartford Stage dramaturg Christopher Baker describes Antony and Cleopatra as "a sweeping play of love and war, opposing the stoic, well-ordered Rome with Cleopatra's expressive, emotional Egypt."
