A new theatre/restaurant complex, The Atlantis Centre, opens for business June 4 in Ontario Place, a tourist attraction in Toronto. Along the shores of Lake Ontario, Ontario Place is where the first I-Max theatre in the world was built.
The new Atlantis complex includes a 500-seat theatre, along with restaurants and a nightclub. Forbidden Hollywood is scheduled to be the first production at the theatre. The popular spoof of 60 years of the movies recently arrived off-Broadway from L.A. Casting for the four roles will take place in the next week or two in Toronto.
The new theatre is bowl-shaped, with 12 rows of seats on the lower level and a small balcony.
Tickets are expected to be in the $27-$40 (Canadian) range, with a restaurant/theatre package for about $37-$45.
Produced by Brian Robertson, who has five year Canadian rights to the show, the run is indefinite, and may go on tour at the end of it's run at Atlantis.
