An extension to July 26 has been announced for Toronto's version of Rent, playing at the Royal Alexandra Theatre. The final block of tickets are now on sale for performances from May 5 to the end of the run. Rent begins its national tour in August at Ottawa's National Arts Centre as part of Festival Canada 98. Following Ottawa, in September, the production moves to Vancouver's Vogue Theatre. Details TBA.
A new Mimi has joined the Canadian cast. Saskia Garel, formerly one half of the hit Canadian recording duo "Love & Sas," took the role on March 11. She has been a member of the Canadian company since its opening, as an ensemble member and Mimi understudy.
