News Tours of Memphis, Addams Family and Come Fly Away to Play San Diego The upcoming national tours of the Tony Award-winning musical Memphis, The Addams Family and Come Fly Away will play San Diego, CA, during the 2011-2012 season.

The Disney family musical Mary Poppins will drop onto the stage of the Civic Theatre Aug. 10-28. Based on the beloved film, the stage production includes the original Sherman brothers songs as well as new material by George Stiles and Anthony Drewe.

Tony Award winner Twyla Tharp's Frank Sinatra-inspired dance musical Come Fly Away will run Nov. 8-13 at the Civic Theatre. The night club-set musical follows four couples as they fall in and out of love to the songs and vocals of Frank Sinatra.

The Tony-nominated juke-box musical Rock of Ages, which uses the hits of the 1980's to tell the story of young dreamers on L.A.'s Sunset Strip, will arrive March 27-April 1, 2012.

The Addams Family, which will launch its tour in New Orleans in fall 2011, will play San Diego May 29-June 3, 2012. The musical based on the macabre Charles  Addams comic strip has a score by Andrew Lippa and a book by Jersey Boys Tony winners Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice.

After winning the 2010 Tony Award for Best Musical, Best Book and Best Score, Memphis will begin a national tour in its namesake city in October 2011. The tour will stop in San Diego July 24-29, 2012. Joe DiPietro and Bon Jovi's David Bryan co-authored the hit about a white DJ and a black singer set during America's segregated 1950's. Additional engagements will include Blue Man Group; and the return of Cats (Jan. 10-15, 2012); and Wicked (June 20-July 15, 2012).
