Center Stage
May 19: Guest this week on Playbill Radio's Center Stage is David Bryan, one-time composer from the rock band Bon Jovi, who is all over Broadway and Off-Broadway this spring, most notably in the new musical Toxic Avenger, which just won the Outer Critics Circle Award as Outstanding New Off-Broadway musical. Based on the campy horror film of the same name, Toxic Avenger has a book by Playbill Radio's other guest, Joe DiPietro, author of Broadway's All Shook Up and the long running Off-Broadway revue I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change. They introduce songs from Toxic Avenger's newly released cast album. Bryan also sings the show's love ballad live in our studio: "Hot Toxic Love."
Each week's new "Center Stage" show debuts at 7 PM ET Tuesday, with repeats scheduled for (all times ET) 2 AM Wednesday, May 20; 11 PM Wednesday, May 20; 2 PM Thursday, May 21; 11 AM Saturday, May 23; and 4 PM Sunday, May 24.

May 21: A tour through the career of Broadway songwriter Jason Robert Brown, whose musicals include Parade, The Last Five Years and 13. Each week's "Composer Spotlight" debuts at 7 PM (ET) Thursday, with repeats scheduled for: (all times are ET) 2 AM Friday, May 22; 11 PM Friday, May 22; 10 PM Sunday, May 24; and 2 PM Monday, May 25.
"Theater Talk" on Playbill Radio
May 23: Librettist and lyricist James Rado, composer Galt MacDermot and Tony-nominated actor Gavin Creel discuss the critically acclaimed revival of the 1968 classic Hair, which has just been Tony-nominated for Best Revival of a Musical. The trio also treats listeners to a performance of Creel's first-act-closing solo (once Rado's), "Where Do I Go?" at the piano with bongo accompaniment by Vince MacDermot.
