The film, which was released in five theatres in New York and Los Angeles Dec. 27, was honored with Best Actress (Meryl Streep), Best Acting Ensemble and Central Film of the Year. Producer Harvey Weinstein, also represented with "Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom," received an unscheduled achievement honor.
Additionally, Chris Cooper, who plays Charlie Aiken, received the festival's Lifetime Achievement Award.
"The winners are justly deserving of the honors they received and we congratulate them for their extraordinary contributions to the art of motion pictures," festival founder and artistic director Pascal Vicedomini said.
Other movies up for the Film of the Year included "Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom," "12 Years a Slave," "The Butler," "American Hustle" and "The Great Beauty (La grande bellezza)."
