According to a statement from the show's press representative issued Sept. 16, "Mark has not been well for a while and as such we cancelled four out of five preview performances, but he was very much hoping to perform tonight. Sadly he is not well enough and as such I will be rearranging the press night for an evening next week."

Bazeley and Olivia Williams play husband and wife Johan and Marianne, respectively, whose journey the play charts from their seemingly perfect happy marriage through betrayal and loss to warring contenders in divorce and beyond. Also in the cast are Shane Attwooll (Peter/Arne), Melanie Jessops (Mrs. Palm/Mrs Jacobi) and Aislinn Sands (Katrina/Eva).

The adaptation is by Joanna Murray-Smith, whose previous original plays include Honour at the National Theatre, and separate productions at the West End's Wyndham's Theatre and on Broadway; and The Female of the Species at the West End's Vaudeville Theatre and LA's Geffen Playhouse.

Original designs for the Coventry production were by Rob Jones, and these have been adapted for the St. James Theatre production by Al Turner; original lighting was by Paul Pyant, adapted by Derek Anderson, and fight direction is by Terry King.

Scenes from a Marriage is produced by St. James Productions.
