News True Colors Cabaret, With Cyndi Lauper and Kinky Boots Cast, Offered at Birdland Dec. 16 Tony and Grammy Award-winning composer Cyndi Lauper is joined by cast members from her Tony-winning musical Kinky Boots for a Dec. 16 benefit concert for the True Colors Fund at Birdland.

The one-night-only True Colors Cabaret, which promises "an eclectic array of standards, pop hits and other songs," takes place at 7 PM.

Lauper is joined by Kinky Boots Tony Award winner Billy Porter, Tony nominees Stark Sands and Annaleigh Ashford, as well as Adinah Alexander, Douglas Baldeo, Stephen Berger, Paul Canaan, Lena Hall, Jaden Jordan, Andy Kelso, Kevin Smith Kirkwood, Eric Leviton, Ellyn Marie Marsh, John Jeffrey Martin, Marcus Neville, Kyle Taylor Parker, Robert Pendilla, Jennifer Perry, Kyle Post, Tory Ross, Charlie Sutton and Joey Taranto.

Also in attendance are Tony Award-winning Kinky Boots co-creators Harvey Fierstein (book) and Jerry Mitchell (director and choreographer), along with producers Daryl Roth and Hal Luftig.

The True Colors Cabaret has musical direction by Tony Award-winning Kinky Boots orchestrator Stephen Oremus.

Co-founded by Lauper, the True Colors Fund aims to "bring awareness about and bring an end to gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender youth homelessness, and to inspire everyone, especially straight people, to become active participants in the advancement of equality for all." "I am really excited that the True Colors Fund and my Kinky Boots family will be resurrecting the True Colors Cabaret for this special one-night only show," Lauper said in a previous statement. "The message of Kinky Boots and the work of the True Colors Fund is synonymous. 'You change the world when you change your mind.' Through a great night of music, we will continue our work to change those minds and ensure that gay and transgender homeless youth get the help that they deserve."

Tickets, ranging $60-$250, are available via TicketFly.com or by phoning (877) 987-6487. There is a $10 food and drink minimum per person. Birdland is located at 315 W 44th St.
