News Tune to Offer Steps in Time as Friends in Deed Benefit Prior to Stops in Florida, California, Texas Nine-time Tony Award winner Tommy Tune — of Nine, My One and Only and Grand Hotel fame — will perform his biographical show Steps in Time Sept. 21 at The Gerald W. Lynch Theater at John Jay College as a benefit for Friends in Deed.

According to the actor-director's official website, he will also bring Steps in Time to the University of California (Nov. 21), the Kravis Center in West Palm Beach, FL (Dec. 29), the Philharmonic Center in Naples, FL (Feb. 25, 2010), the Queensborough Performing Arts Center in Queens, NY (April 25, 2010) and the Grand Opera House in Galveston, TX (May 1, 2010). "Tommy Tune teams with longtime collaborators The Manhattan Rhythm Kings for a personal look back at his incredible career, featuring timeless standards, elegant choreography, and Tommy’s own unique charm and warm-hearted humor," according to Steps in Time press notes.

A nine-time Tony Award winner, director-choreographer-actor Tune has helped create such Broadway shows as Nine, My One & Only, A Day in Hollywood/A Night in the Ukraine, The Will Rogers Follies and Grand Hotel. He helmed Off-Broadway's The Club and Cloud Nine, and he spent two years starring in the Las Vegas production of the spectacular EFX at the MGM Grand Hotel. Tune was seen in the 2006 national tour of Dr. Dolittle, and helmed the new Broadway-aimed musical The Turn of the Century at the Goodman Theatre in fall 2008.
