The made-for-TV film starring Tony winner Winokur will make its debut at 8 PM. Winokur — who was also recently cast in the upcoming TV production of Once Upon a Mattress — stars as Becca Wasserman, a young woman who proves that true beauty comes from within. The film also stars Fran Drescher — of "The Nanny" fame — as Becca's mother Amanda, who tries to persuade her plump daughter not to enter the local Miss Squirrel beauty pageant. Becca, undeterred, enters the pageant. "Beautiful Girl" also features Mark Conseulos as Adam, Becca's fiance. The movie boasts two original songs written by pop star and Broadway singer-actress Deborah Gibson. Winokur will sing the tunes — "Fall Reaching" and "Beautiful Girl" — in the film.

Marissa Jaret Winokur won the 2003 Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical for her performance as Tracy Turnblad — like Becca, another young woman with something to prove — in Hairspray. She also appeared on Broadway in the hit revival of Grease! as well as the L.A. Reprise production of Hair. Winokur portrayed Janine in the Oscar winning film “American Beauty" and has also been seen in “Teaching Mrs. Tingle,” “Never Been Kissed,” “Scary Movie,” “Dharma & Greg,” “Moesha,” “Just Shoot Me,” “Boston Public,” “The Ellen Show,” “Felicity,” “Nikki,” “Steve Harvey,” “Get Real” and “Curb: Your Enthusiasm.”
