News   Two Elphabas, Stephanie Block and Eden Espinosa, to Be Part of March 13 New Voices Concert

Wicked stars Eden Espinosa and Stephanie Block, who play the green-faced Elphaba in, respectively, the Broadway and national touring companies of Wicked, will be part of the line-up for the March 13 installment of the Monday Nights, New Voices series.

The 7 PM concert at the Duplex Cabaret Theatre will celebrate the work of three new composers: Neil Bartram, Barbara Anselmi and Scott Alan. Alan, who also produces the series, said in a statement, "I have been a huge advocate of new talent in New York City, and furthermore, I have been a huge advocate of new writers. The New Voices program has given many new writers, as well as new voices, a place to showcase their work. I have been a huge fan of both Barbara and Neil’s work for some time now, and feel humbled to not only be honoring their talents at a New Voices concert, but joining them on stage as well." In addition to Block and Espinosa, the evening will also feature the talents of Sebastian Arcelus, Wayne Wilcox, Lisa Brescia and Alysha Umphress.

The New Voices series spotlights "lesser-known talents working in New York.”

The Duplex is located in Manhattan at 61 Christopher Street. There is a $10 cover charge and a two-drink minimum; call (212) 255-5438 for reservations. Visit www.theduplex.com for more information.
