Broadway's Aladdin welcomes two new principals to the cast. Brad Weinstock takes over the role of Omar; Major Attaway has been named Standby for the Genie, Babkak and the Sultan. Both actors are making their Broadway debuts.

Weinstock has appeared in national tours of Jersey Boys (Frankie Valli) and Wicked (Boq). He replaces Jonathan Schwartz, who originated the role of Omar on Broadway, and played his final performance February 21.

Attaway played the Mikado in the regional production of Hot Mikado and Audrey Two in a regional production of Little Shop of Horrors. Trevor Dion Nicholas, the current standby for Genie/Babkak/Sultan, is leaving the Broadway company in March to prepare for his West End debut as Genie in the London production of Aladdin, set to begin performances May 27.

Aladdin opened on Broadway March 20, 2014, and continues at the New Amsterdam Theatre. For more information on Aladdin or to buy tickets, visit
