John Tillinger (Don't Dress For Dinner, Say Goodnight Gracie) will direct the poignant and comic two-person play that will take place Oct. 20 at 7:30 PM and Oct. 21 at 2 PM. A benefit reception at the Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm will follow the Oct. 20 evening performance. Tickets to the event will go on sale Sept. 5.
Love Letters, according to the Playhouse, "is a unique and imaginative theatre piece which is comprised of letters exchanged over a lifetime between two people who grew up together, went their separate ways, but continued to share confidences. As the actors read the letters aloud, what is created is an evocative, touching, frequently funny but always telling pair of character studies in which what is implied is as revealing and meaningful as what is actually written down."
Daly (Master Class, Gypsy, Rabbit Hole) will portray Melissa, with Jones (Driving Miss Daisy, Fences, The Best Man) as Andrew.
"The Playhouse continues to embrace its history as a place that welcomed legends of the entertainment world and we are also especially thrilled to welcome Ms. Daly back home to the stage that she appeared on alongside her entire family in 1963," producing director Jed Bernstein said in a statement.
Regular performance-only tickets are $85 and $75 and will be available by phoning (215) 862-2121 or by visiting bcptheater.org. Tickets for the Oct. 20 performance and reception, priced $165, are available by phoning (609) 460-4630 ext. 111 or by emailing Lisa Patterson at [email protected].
