News   Tyne Daly, Richard Easton and Tony Yazbeck Set for How He Lied to Her Husband; Project Shaw Season Announced

Gingold Theatrical Group's Project Shaw, which is under the leadership of founding artistic director David Staller, will kickoff its 10th season Jan. 19, 2015, at 7 PM with George Bernard Shaw's How He Lied to Her Husband, which will be presented at Symphony Space’s Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theatre.

The cast of Project Shaw's 100th offering will feature Tyne Daly, Richard Easton and Tony Yazbeck.

"To celebrate GTG's 100th Project Shaw we're throwing a party," artistic director Staller said. "For $50 our patrons will get the play and a post-performance party with drinks, food and music. Or patrons may come to the play, only, for the usual $30. This promises to be a particularly festive evening."

How He Lied to Her Husband, according to press notes, is "Shaw's wicked parody of his own play, the classic Candida. The fashionable Aurora Bompas (Tyne Daly) has allowed the young poet (Tony Yazbeck) to write poems to her, without anticipating that her boxing fanatic husband (Richard Easton) might find them. Which he does!"

Gingold Theatrical Group's Project Shaw made history in December 2009 as the first company ever to present performances of every one of Shaw's 65 plays (including full-length works, one-acts and sketches).

The season will continue Feb. 23 with Widowers' Houses, March 16 with the annual gala, April 6 with Misalliance, May 18 with Overruled, June 22 with Fanny's First Play, July 20 with Man and Superman, Sept. 21 with a Chekhov Comedy Event, Oct. 19 with The Dr.'s Dilemma, Nov. 23 with John Bull's Other Island and Dec. 21 with The Shewing-Up Of Blanco Posnet.

Symphony Space is located in Manhattan at 2537 Broadway (at 95th Street). Tickets, priced $30, are now available by calling (212) 864-5400 or online at www.symphonyspace.org.
