News UK Avant Garde Showcased at BAC October Fest Opens Oct. 6

The Battersea Arts Centre has announced its "BAC Fest"; replacing "The British Festival Of Visual Theatre," it celebrates the work of some of the UK's groundbreaking artists who are unearthing new and exciting forms of theatre. This year it will run from Oct. 6-28 at the Battersea Arts Centre.

Some of the highlights of the festival include Spymonkey's Cooped which opens on Oct. 9, directed by Cal McCrystal. With 5 hit shows in Edinburgh this year McCrystal still remains a hidden force behind one of the most vibrant strands of British Theatre today. From Oct. 25 the BAC hosts the London premiere of Abi Morgan's Edinburgh Fringe hit Tiny Dynamite, a remarkable fusion from two of Britains exciting theatre companies, the hard and fast Frantic Assembly and the dynamic Paines Plough, with direction by Vicky Featherstone.

Also included in the festival is Guy Dartnoll presenting Various Guyses, A Trilogy, all three of his highly acclaimed solo shows, from Oct. 16 October. And Cartoon de Salvo present their new show Ladies and Gentlemen, Where Am I? from Oct. 16.
