The nominees for outstanding repertoire for a classical company are London's Royal Ballet, Leeds' Northern Ballet Theatre, and the Scottish Ballet. The Royal Ballet's dancers are up for quite a few awards; the best male dancer category is a sweep for the company, with Carlos Acosta, Jonathan Cope, and Johan Kobborg in the running. Other Royal Ballet dancers nominated include Leanne Benjamin, Alina Cojocaru, Ricardo Cervera, Thiago Soares, and Lauren Cuthbertson.
In the modern repertoire category, the nominees are George Piper Dances, Phoenix Dance Theatre, and Rambert Dance Company.
The awards for best classical choreography include works by Alastair Marriott, David Nixon, and Christopher Wheeldon. For best modern choreography, the nominees are Javier de Frutos, Russell Maliphant, and Wayne McGregor.
The winners will be announced on January 20 at a lunchtime ceremony at the Royal Opera House in London.
