It has now been confirmed that the musical Fame, which closes at the Victoria Palace Theatre Sept. 8 will transfer to the Cambridge Theatre from Sept. 20. Fame is a comedy-drama in song and dance set at New York City's High School of Performing Arts. It follows a group of young students (actors, dancers and musicians) as they interact with each other through a four-year period between 1980 and 1984. They are the last class to graduate from the landmark building on West 46th Street.
This production originally opened in June 1995 at the Cambridge Theatre, since when it has returned to various theatres in the West End. Prior to its transfer to the Cambridge theatre it will have notched up a combined West End run of just over two-and-a-half years.
