News U.K. Theatre Critic to Take to West End Stage in Olivier Award-Winning Top Hat Tim Walker, chief theatre critic of the Sunday Telegraph and the Mandrake diary columnist of the Daily Telegraph, will appear in the Olivier Award-winning musical Top Hat for one night only, Sept. 18.

He will play two roles in the show — a boatman and a waiter – and, according to press materials, "can take some consolation in the fact that the reviews the show has received - at least up until his big night - have been very good." (Walker himself afforded the show a five-star rating.)

In a press statement, Walker commented, "People involved in shows that I have panned lately have threatened to come along to mock me. So have some of my fellow critics. It has, however, been a constant refrain of actors lately that critics such as myself could never do what they do every night. Well, here is one who is going to show them that isn't necessarily the case."
