The musical will star "X Factor" finalist Lloyd Daniels in the title role, with Danielle Hope (winner of the "Over the Rainbow" TV contest to play Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, which she premiered at the London Palladium) as the Narrator and Matt Lapinskas, a finalist on TV's "Dancing on Ice," as Pharaoh.
The production will visit Southend-on-Sea, Dublin, Truro, Woking, Reading, Stoke-on-Trent, Bromley, Cork, Carlisle, Liverpool, Manchester, Norwich, Tunbridge Wells, Mold, Darlington and High Wycombe, concluding Nov. 29.
Daniels, who was the youngest contestant in the 2009 "X Factor" competition, got to the final five, performing in front of 10 million viewers. Since then he has performed to sold-out arenas on a 56-date "X Factor" tour and released the popular single "Suburban Girl."
Hope has recently appeared in The Last 5 Years and spent a year playing Eponine in Les Miserables in the West End.
Lapinskas, who is best known for playing Anthony Moon in TV's "EastEnders," was a runner-up in the penultimate series of "Dancing on Ice." He makes his musical theatre debut here. Bill Kenwright's touring production is now the longest-running tour in U.K. theatre history, having been launched almost 35 years ago.
