News UK Will Have a Barbican Wonderland, Nov. 13

The RSC's Alice in Wonderland is to open at the Barbican on Nov. 13, with previews starting Oct. 26.

Lewis Carroll's classic children's story has been adapted for the stage by Adrian Mitchell and will be directed by Rachel Kavanaugh, with Katherine Heath in the title role.

The production, a new one for the RSC, combines Carroll's Alice stories: Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass and What Alice Found There.

The show is aimed at the children's Christmas market, as is Adrian Mitchell's other adaptation of a much-loved children's book for the RSC — The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe — which is appearing at Sadler's Wells theatre.
