The National Theatre's tradition of organizing talks and celebrity appearances continues this-coming autumn with a wide range of events. As part of the ongoing celebrations of 25 years in its South Bank building there will be three talks in October:
Oct. 22: NT25: The Building - a panel of architectural experts will discuss architect Sir Denys Lasdun's building.
Oct. 23: NT25: The Designers - leading designers who have worked at the National recall past productions.
Oct. 25: NT25: The Directors - the three heads of the company over the last 25 years, Sir Peter Hall, Sir Richard Eyre and Trevor Nunn, discuss their association with the National.
The latest celebrity to appear at the National - in this case in connection with the publication of his updated biography, Up in the Clouds, Gentlemen Please, will be veteran film star Sir John Mills. He will be in the Lyttleton Theatre on 4th October. Sir John's one-man stage show about his life and career has been a favourite with audiences for several years now, and as the senior knight of the acting profession he gave the address at Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother's 100th birthday celebrations last year.
